Birthday continued...

He smashed the whole thing into his mouth! It fit... almost. Even though it didn't quite fit, he didn't stop trying. This picture is fuzzy because we were laughing SO hard.

He was willing to share with his friend though. He loves dogs, and all animals.

Caleb's First Birthday!

Happy Birthday Caleb! We had a birthday party for him at my parent's house. I can't believe he is one!
He wasn't so sure about the birthday hat.

This was Caleb's first real sugar. He hadn't had any cake or candy or even jam. So his own cupcake (it was a healthy cupcake but it still had sugar in it) was quite the adventure. He first tested it out. And that look of surprise is after his first taste of frosting. So he took one big bite and proceeded to shove the whole thing in his mouth!

Fun in Provo

Last weekend we went to Orem. My parents volunteered to babysit Caleb the whole weekend (off and on) so we could go out and celebrate. Yes, they are amazing! We found some fantastic places in Orem/Provo. If you live around here or are visiting you should check them out.

The first was Spark restaurant. I LOVED IT! The food was really good, but the best part is the drinks. The restaurant is a non-alcoholic establishment but they have a long drink list, and a lounge feel to it. So you can hang out sipping yummy drinks. It basically is all the benefits of a lounge or bar without any of the nasty side effects of alcohol.
I ordered several (it was my birthday, that is totally legal!)

These two were my favorite. The first was a kiwi martini. There is something sexy about a martini. I loved hanging out sipping a martini.

The next was a Shirley Temple, and yes that is a big chunk of cotton candy on top! It was really tasty and fun. Preston and I had a great time, I would totally recommend it! But I do love specialty drinks, so I am a little biased.

Another fantastic find is the Cocoa Bean. They have some of the best cupcakes I have ever had. The best was the raspberry chocolate cheesecake. It was chocolate with a spread of Nutella, raspberry jam and cheesecake frosting. Hmmmm.
They also have a bunch of cocoa drinks. They have all these crazy cocoa flavors including all the frozen drinks. They looked so yummy, I have to go back and try them. You can get all the fun of a latte or frapuccino (?) without all the drawbacks of coffee. If you are anywhere near here, you really should check it out!

Spring!

Yay, spring is coming, and as it gets warmer we make our first excited adventures to the park. Caleb is discovering he loves the park. He especially likes the swings. This is his first time by himself. He was a little unsure about it...

But once we leaned him forward he was in love with swinging!

More cute pictures

Caleb is so social and happy, he is a lot of fun!
Look at those chubby hands! That is may favorite!
Caleb loves to make fun noises and play with his tongue. I love that you can see his tongue sticking out in this picture.

New Pictures

My sister in law snapped some photos of Caleb while she was here for Christmas. They are so cute, I had to post some, and I will post more later. If you want to see more of her stuff click on her logo on the right. She is so good at capturing people's personalities.

It is rare to catch Caleb sitting. This is the closest you get, when he is on his way to crawling. He is always on the move.

Halloween was just a regular day at the circus for us. I was a clown, Caleb was a lion, and Preston was a lion tamer (how appropriate).

I don't think this view is good enough, but you can see his two little teeth in this one.
